LITTLE ROOM- MRS. MASI AND MRS. ZECCA –
Happy New Year! Welcome back and I hope all our Little Room students had a great holiday break. This week we welcome the month January with the color blue, the shape rectangle, and the number 5. Our sound of the week is the letter “n” as in numbers. Our reading shelves have been filled with books about the winter season.
The Little Room would also like to welcome our new friends, John Horton, Cassidy Tighe, and Maryn Morris as an addition to our class.
TRANSITIONAL ROOM- MRS. VICENTE, MS. KALMAN AND MRS. SIMMONS-
Transitional Room students were very eager to interact with friends during this shortened school week. We spent our time getting back into the motions and routine of the classroom. Children began sharpening practical life skills by using the independent snack area, where students are now serving their own snacks and cleaning up after themselves. As a class, we also focused on “n”, the sound of the week, pointing out that we have all started a “n”ew year! The children did a great job coming up with “n” words and tracing the letter, as well. We are excited to welcome a full school week next week and immerse ourselves in fresh materials.
BIG ROOM- MRS. SMITH, MRS. SARNO, MRS. TSCHOPP, MRS. WILSON, MRS. GERST AND MS. CELESTE-
The Big Room students are happy to be back at school. The snow added a lot of excitement to our very short week. We took a trip to Antarctica! It was an appropriate trip with the frigid weather we are experiencing. The children enjoyed the new work that has been added to our shelves reflecting the season of winter. Our library area is also filled with new books all about winter. The children had a great time sharing their stories and discussing the fun we all had during the Holiday break! We look forward to a full week of school next week!
